Mike Bowers heads the firm’s Charleston office,
where his practice focuses on defending complex cases in the areas of
products liability, toxic tort, trucking and transportation and insurance
law. Mike also represents clients in relation to various professional and
business related matters.
Mike was formerly a member of the Business Litigation Team at Nexsen Pruet,
where he maintained a practice emphasis on products liability law, toxic
tort litigation and pharmaceutical litigation. He also previously served as
Chair of the Products Liability Practice Group and Managing Partner of
Young, Clement, Rivers, LLP. Before entering private practice, Mike was
Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina in the Litigation
Section.
A resident of Charleston, Mike is the South Carolina State Representative
for Defense Research Institute and is an Executive Committee Member for the
South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. Mike also is a member of
the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Products Liability, Toxic
Tort and Medical Device Committees.

Barbara A. Mauldin, individually, and Barbara A. Mauldin, as Administrator
of the Estate of Harold D. Mauldin v. Falcon Transport, Inc. and Libbey-Owens
Ford Company, U.S. District Court, Beaufort Division, Civil Action No.:
9:93-0281-8. In this wrongful death action, which was tried in 1995 and
re-tried in 1996, Mike represented Falcon Transport, Inc.
Robert Henderson and Carolyn Henderson v Joseph Chie and Unicon Concrete,
LLC and Unicon Concrete Holding Co., United States District Court, Florence
Division, Civil Action 4:01-CV-989. Mike tried this total disability injury
case in 2002, representing Joseph Chie, Unicon Concrete, LLC, and Unicon
Concrete Holding Co.
G & P Trucking Co v Parks Auto Parts, Court of Common Pleas, Charleston
County, South Carolina, Civil Action No 2000-CP-10-396. Mike represented
Parks Auto Parts in this indemnity action tried in 2002.
